Clydeshaw Profile
Clydeshaw is a striking, contemporary woodgrain from the PG Bison MelaWood Expressions range. It belongs to the Natural Touch collection and is widely recognized for its bold, rustic character and dark, sophisticated color palette.
Aesthetic and Texture
Clydeshaw is designed to mimic weathered, reclaimed timber with a modern twist. It features a deep chocolate-brown base with heavy charcoal and smoky grey graining.
-
Natural Touch (NT) Finish: This is a synchronized (SIR) texture. The deep ridges, knots, and “cracks” you see in the wood pattern are physically embossed into the board. This creates a highly tactile experience that feels like authentic, raw wood.
-
The Look: It is one of the “busier” woodgrains in the catalog, featuring prominent knots and a distressed grain. It feels rugged and masculine, making it perfect for industrial or “modern farmhouse” aesthetics.
Design Applications
Because Clydeshaw has such a strong personality, it is most effective when used strategically:
-
Feature Cabinetry: Ideal for a statement kitchen island or a bar area where the texture can be appreciated up close.
-
Media Units & Shelving: Its dark, moody tones make it a popular choice for floating TV units and library shelving, as it provides a grounded, solid appearance.
-
Office Furniture: It adds a sense of permanence and prestige to executive desks and boardroom tables.
Recommended Pairings
Clydeshaw is a “heavy” visual, so it works best when balanced with solids or stones:
-
Moody & Sophisticated: Pair with Kalapana (Black) or Storm Grey. This creates a high-end, dark-on-dark look that is very popular in modern penthouses and bachelor pads.
-
Light Contrast: Combine it with Folkstone Grey or Muidan to lift the space and allow the intricate details of the Clydeshaw grain to stand out.
-
Industrial Chic: It looks incredible when paired with the concrete-inspired Luca Polenta or the stone-like Farasan.
-
Hardware: Best suited to matte black or brushed gunmetal hardware.
