Northridge is a contemporary, light-toned woodgrain finish within the PG Bison MelaWood Expressions range. It is part of the “Demand” collection and is specifically designed to fit the modern “Scandi” (Scandinavian) and Japandi design trends.

Aesthetic and Texture

Northridge is characterized by its pale, washed-oak appearance. It features a very light “blonde” or “oatmeal” base with subtle, soft-grey grain lines.

• Natural Touch (NT) Finish: Northridge features the premium Natural Touch texture. This is a synchronized finish, meaning the physical texture of the board follows the visual grain of the wood exactly. When you touch a “knot” or a grain line, you feel it precisely where you see it.

• The Look: It provides a clean, airy, and organic feel. It lacks the heavy yellow or orange undertones found in traditional oaks, making it look much more modern and “expensive.”

Design Applications

Because Northridge is so light and neutral, it is excellent for making small spaces feel larger:

• Modern Kitchens: Ideal for full-height cabinetry or overhead units to keep the kitchen feeling bright and open.

• Bedroom Wardrobes: It creates a calm, serene atmosphere and pairs perfectly with light-colored flooring and soft textiles.

• Minimalist Furniture: Frequently used for TV units, coffee tables, and floating shelves in minimalist or “Nordic” style interiors.

Recommended Pairings

Northridge is highly versatile and acts as a “soft” wood element that balances both light and dark colors:

• Fresh and Airy: Pair with Iceberg White or Muidan for a classic Scandinavian look.

• Sophisticated Contrast: Combine it with Storm Grey or Petrol Blue. The dark solids make the light woodgrain “pop” without overwhelming the room.

• Natural Palette: It looks beautiful alongside stone textures like Luca Polenta.

• Hardware: Best suited to matte black handles for a crisp modern look, or white hardware for a very soft, “hidden” aesthetic.
