Napoca is a sophisticated stone-inspired design within the PG Bison range, specifically featured in the premium MelaWood SupaTexture and MelaWood SupaGloss collections.

Aesthetic and Texture

Napoca is characterized by its dark, moody stone appearance, often resembling a deep charcoal marble with subtle, elegant veining. It is designed to bring the luxury of natural stone into an interior space without the weight or maintenance of real rock.

• SupaTexture Finish: This version offers a “deep structure” finish. It is highly tactile, mimicking the rough, organic feel of honed stone. The reverse side of the board typically features a matching color in a Peen (stippled) finish for durability.

• SupaGloss Finish: In this format, the Napoca design is finished with a high-gloss, UV-hardened surface. This gives it a mirror-like reflection, making the stone pattern appear more vibrant and luxurious, similar to polished marble.

Design Applications

Because of its bold and dark nature, Napoca is best used for:

• Statement Cabinetry: Ideal for kitchen island bases or floor-to-ceiling units in modern, minimalist kitchens.

• Feature Vertical Surfaces: Used in wall cladding or as a backdrop for entertainment units to add depth and “movement” to a room.

• Bathroom Vanities: The stone look is naturally at home in bathroom environments, providing a high-end spa aesthetic.

Recommended Pairings

To prevent a space from feeling too dark or “heavy,” Napoca should be balanced with lighter or warmer elements:

• Solid Contrasts: Pair with Iceberg White or Folkstone Grey in a SupaMatt finish to create a crisp, modern look where the light and dark surfaces play off each other.

• Warmth: Combine Napoca with a warm woodgrain like Arden or Natural Oak. The natural timber tones soften the industrial feel of the stone.

• Hardware: Matte black handles blend into the design for a seamless look, while brushed gold or brass hardware provides a striking, high-end contrast.

• Core: Usually bonded to a quality SupaWood (MDF) core for premium finishes or BisonBord (Chipboard) for standard applications.

• Standard Size: 2750mm x 1830mm.

• Standard Thickness: 16mm is most common for cabinetry and furniture.

• Hygienic Surface: Like all MelaWood products, Napoca features an anti-bacterial additive in the resin that helps maintain a clean surface.
